My Story
I’m a proud native Houstonian, with Texas roots that go all the way back to my great-grandparents, who arrived from Eastern Europe around the turn of the century. Growing up, I had a big decision to make: follow the family tradition of medicine (as my father and grandfather did) or devote myself to spiritual care. With guidance based on the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s teachings and several inspiring mentors during my yeshiva years, I chose the path of nurturing the soul over the body, while deferring to my father for the medical part!
After completing my Semicha (Rabbinic ordination) in Venice, Italy, I served as Rabbi for the “Shul in the Park” in Glasgow, Scotland, and later taught children, university students, and adults in Johannesburg, Toronto, and Brooklyn—including six impactful years at Yeshiva Darchei Menachem and three as Director of Education at the Chabad Student Center of Columbia University.
In 2010, my wife Dassy and I moved on shlichus to Raleigh, NC. Over 12 years there, I had the privilege of working with people of all ages—running Hebrew School and Camp Gan Israel, teaching JLI and Melton classes, serving as senior Rabbi of Congregation Sha’arei Israel, and regularly visiting Jewish inmates as the contract Rabbi at the federal prison in Butner, NC. While growing the shul and community was deeply fulfilling, we eventually moved to South Florida to give our children the strong Jewish education they deserved.
Today, alongside my role as assistant principal at Lubavitch Hebrew Academy, I work with parents, families, children and professionals as a coach. My passion is to share the timeless beauty and depth of Torah values in a way that’s clear, uplifting and relevant to the situation at hand. I approach each conversation with a listening ear, a problem-solving mindset, and (when the moment calls for it) a good laugh. Whether we’re tackling challenges or celebrating successes, my goal is to partner with you to help you or your child grow emotionally, socially, and spiritually, one meaningful step at a time.
